• Γεννήθηκε το 1959 στη Λουϊζιάνα των ΗΠΑ.
• Σπούδασε θέατρο στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Yale.
• Έκανε το ντεμπούτο της στην ταινία του Μπράιαν Ντε Πάλμα The Untouchables.
• Ήταν υποψήφια για Όσκαρ β’ γυναικείου ρόλου και Χρυσή Σφαίρα για την ερμηνεία της στην ταινία Pieces of April.
